Hi! I'm Sam, owner, curator and creator here at Purple Aster Vintage. Purple Aster Vintage is a independently owned and operated business based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 2010 Purple Aster started under a different name (Belle Elle Handcrafted Jewelry) with a focus on crafting unique jewelry. Purple Aster has now evolved to include curated and restored vintage clothing, as well as one-of-a-kind up-cycled and recycled clothing and accessories.

Purple Aster does vintage with intention. All unique vintage items are personally sourced, carefully curated and restored to nearly new condition. Vintage is more than a resale business to us, this is about people and the planet, our intention is to reduce textile waste, keep clothing and other fabric items in circulation as long as possible, and provide our customers with quality items that are an investment.

We take pride in the quality and condition of the items on our racks, attention to detail is our trademark. Every item is meticulously checked inside and out. Items are deep cleaned, stains are carefully removed, holes are mended, seams are re-sewn, loose threads are removed, sweaters are shaved. ALL items are restored. We believe in putting in time and effort, and don't believe in selling you dirty old clothes at a premium just because we "can". 

The Purple Aster branded clothing collection features one-of-a-kind pieces that are designed and hand-crafted in-house. These unique pieces are crafted from recycled, re-worked and up-cycled clothing and fabric that could no longer be mended. All hand embroidered pieces are created with original patterns. A lot of time and care goes into every piece and only ONE of any given piece is ever made. 

No item is beyond saving. We see a future that isn't covered in mountains of cheap unwanted clothing and perfectly good discarded fabric. We hope to make the world a little cleaner and a little cuter, one garment at a time.
